About Me: Laura Warner
I didn’t set out to leave medicine—I set out to help people. Like many physicians, I trained with a deep commitment to patient care, high standards, and a strong sense of responsibility. Over time, though, the very qualities that made me a dedicated physician also made me vulnerable to something I wasn’t prepared for: burnout.
What began as uncertainty about my career choice gradually became something heavier—emotional exhaustion, disconnection, and looking for the escape hatch. I know firsthand how isolating that experience can feel, especially in a profession where we’re often expected to “push through” rather than pause and reflect.
Ultimately, my own burnout led me to make a significant transition—from clinical medicine to a career in public health. That shift wasn’t easy, but it has allowed me time to heal, reconnect with and reconsider my purpose, and reimagine what helping people can look like.
Today, I offer one-on-one virtual coaching for physicians who find themselves in a similar place.

My Approach
Why I Do This Work
Burnout in medicine isn’t a personal failure, as I once thought. It’s a human response to sustained pressure, complexity, and responsibility. But even knowing that doesn’t make it easier to navigate.
My goal is to provide a space where you can:
Speak openly, without judgment or expectation
Make sense of what you’re experiencing
Explore what you want—both inside and outside of medicine
Take thoughtful, realistic steps toward change
Whether you’re questioning your career, feeling stuck, or simply trying to get through the day with more clarity and energy, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
My coaching is grounded in lived experience, practical reflection, and deep respect for the realities of medical practice. I’m not here to tell you what to do—I’m here to help you think clearly, reconnect with your values, and make decisions that align with the life you want.
This is not therapy or clinical treatment. It’s a collaborative process focused on insight, direction, and sustainable change.
A Bit More About Me
I live in Colorado, where I spend as much time as I can outdoors—hiking, running, and simply enjoying the beauty of the mountains. I also enjoy cooking delicious, healthy food and melting into the couch with a book. Many of my personal life lessons have been influenced by Buddhism.
